Leonel is a premium brand of mild cigars that has a good following all over the world. The popularity of the cigar has been increasing in the past few years, as smokers are becoming aware of the stringent quality control and long maturing process. The filler of the Leonel cigars is a blend of quality Dominican tobaccos that are matured over a decade before processing. Another important feature is the use of the leaves from different areas of the tobacco plant, Volado, Seco, and Ligero. This gives the cigar a mild body, along with very well balanced flavors and spicy nuances.
The binder is a Dominican Sumatra leaf, whereas the wrapper is a silky Connecticut leaf from United States. The combination of the Sumatra binder lends earthy and peppery flavors to the mild Dominican filler. This brings out the complexity, which is quite rare in a mild cigar. The factory where the Leonel cigars are manufactured has very strict quality control standards, and each cigar is checked rigorously. The factory implements a special process where cigars are checked on how they will fare in different climatic conditions, and the right type of cigars is dispatched to appropriate destinations.
