Aganorsa Leaf: Cigars from an Industry Outsider

As a native Cuban, one might assume cigars were always a part of Eduardo’s life. In reality, he initially took a very different path: studied economics in the U.S., then pursued a career as an investment banker. In Spain, he founded the pizza chain Telepizza with his brother, which gave him the financial freedom to pursue other goals.

In 1997, he moved to Nicaragua. There, he took over a struggling raw tobacco operation and revived it – not simply as a business idea, but because he had set himself the goal of cultivating the best tobacco in the world.

The Cuban Signature

Eduardo looked to the tobaccos of his homeland for guidance and brought experienced Cubans on board to help him achieve his vision. In 2002, Arsenio Ramos joined the team – a man from Pinar del Río, where cigars are part of the culture. Together, they developed the Aganorsa Leaf brand further. Arsenio was a true tobacco expert with vast experience in cultivation and blending. Today, his name stands for tradition and know-how. After his death in 2018, he was honored with the mild to medium-bodied Aganorsa Leaf Arsenio.

Aganorsa Leaf Cigars – From Seed to Flame

Over time, Aganorsa Leaf has earned an excellent reputation. Connoisseurs praise the cigars for their character – because everything here is done in-house. From seed to finished cigar, Aganorsa handles it all. This model guarantees consistent quality at a high level. Today, Eduardo is joined by his son Max at the helm – together with a team of specialists, they produce premium cigars for true aficionados.

The Aganorsa Leaf Cigar Selection

Aganorsa Leaf has only been available in Germany since 2023 – thanks to Kopp Tobaccos, who added the brand to their lineup. And it was a real stroke of luck: the cigars quickly gained great popularity.

With the Signature Selection, Aganorsa offers a strong, complex Nicaraguan puro. The Rare Leaf Reserve delivers a firework of Nicaraguan flavors. For a more relaxed experience, there’s the Validation Connecticut – its light wrapper ensures a mild, balanced smoking pleasure.
