Aging Room Cigars: A Journey of Tradition and Change
The brand Aging Room has long been a synonym for exclusive moments of indulgence in Germany. Its roots trace back to sunny Miami, home to "Boutique Blends Cigars." Originally founded in 1996 under the name "Habana Cuba Cigar Company," its success story began as a supplier of flavored cigars. However, 2002 marked a turning point: Rafael Nodal and two partners took over the company, giving it a new direction in 2012 with the rebranding to Aging Room. From then on, the focus shifted from quantity to quality: premium cigars produced in small quantities—so-called small batches.
The Vision of Rafael Nodal
Following the cigar boom of the 1990s, many manufacturers faced significant challenges. Overproduction and stagnant demand forced companies to get creative. The then "Habana Cuba Cigar Company" successfully marketed its stock online, finding ideal new owners in Rafael Nodal and Hank Bischoff. Even before the takeover, the two had specialized in selling small-batch cigars, particularly in the Miami region. Together with experienced producers like Nestor Plasencia and Nick Perdomo, they ventured into the premium segment. While early experiments such as the "XL for Men" cigar with a 60-ring gauge didn’t achieve great success, they laid the foundation for future milestones.
The Breakthrough: Collaboration with A.J. Fernandez
With the introduction of the SWAG brand, crafted in the Dominican Tabacalera La Palma by Jose Blanco, Aging Room achieved the desired breakthrough. These cigars were well-received, encouraging the team to continue focusing on quality and exclusivity. In 2011, the Aging Room line was launched in a highly limited quantity.

2019 marked a milestone in the history of Aging Room: together with the renowned A.J. Fernandez, the Aging Room Quattro Nicaragua was created. This cigar was named Cigar of the Year 2019 by Cigar Aficionado and remains the only series available in Germany to this day. A true masterpiece that will captivate you!
