Belmore Cigars and the Story of Charles Fairmorn
Belmore is a brand created by Charles Fairmorn and produced in its own tabacalera in the Dominican Republic. Charles Fairmorn itself was established in 1972 in the United States. In the 1980s, the American branch of the company exited the tobacco business, while the German office, which had opened in Hamburg a few years after the company's founding, continued to operate.
From Germany to Central America
Following changes in Germany, Charles Fairmorn moved its headquarters from Hamburg to Thuringia and later back to the north, settling in Lübeck. Around the turn of the millennium, the company resumed operations in the United States. Today, Charles Fairmorn runs facilities in Central America, including Nicaragua and Honduras. Here, cigars such as the Charles Fairmorn Tradition line and the Liga Centro Americana are crafted under the guidance of Nestor Plasencia. In the Dominican Republic, in addition to Belmore, brands such as Quisqueya and Personales are produced.
Belmore Cigars: Variety and Quality
Since 2001, Belmore has impressed with cigars that stand out for their high-quality craftsmanship and appealing design. Two years after production began, the brand introduced its first cigars to the market. Today, the Belmore Connecticut and the Belmore Maduro are fan favorites.
The Belmore Connecticut, formerly known as Clasico, offers a smooth flavor. Its Dominican tobaccos, combined with Nicaraguan filler and a U.S. Connecticut-shade wrapper, deliver a balanced smoking experience.
