A Queer Cigar? Sounds unusual at first, right? But if there’s anywhere such a thing exists, it’s naturally in Berlin—a city known for its diversity and uniqueness.
BerlinCigarMen: The Queer Cigar Community
“Ick steh uff Berlin” (“I’m into Berlin”)—that’s how the NDW band Ideal captured the city’s special vibe back in 1980. At the time, Berlin was still divided, and the western part exuded unconventional charm. Today, Berlin is globally recognized for its limitless urban adventures and nightlife with no closing hours.

Even though Berlin has become trendier—and more expensive—the city remains a mecca for subcultures. From the rave scene that drew millions to the Tiergarten in the ’90s, to gangsta rap, to hipsters in lumberjack shirts—every community finds its place here.
From a Schöneberg Gay Bar to the World
The same applies to the queer cigar scene. The BerlinCigarMen proudly call themselves “Germany’s biggest gay cigar group”—and they fully embrace that identity. On the first Friday of every month, members gather in Schöneberg’s Nollendorf district, the heart of queer Berlin. The local bar Pussycat temporarily transforms into Europe’s largest gay cigar lounge. Their motto? “Elsewhere, there’s a curfew; here, it’s the garbage truck that sends you home.”
BerlinCigarMen Cigars: Size Matters
If you don’t live in Berlin or prefer an earlier bedtime, you don’t have to miss out. The signature cigar of the BerlinCigarMen is available for purchase: The BerlinCigarMen Eins is a Double Toro with an impressive 64-ring gauge. After all, a man wants something substantial in his mouth. Also available in a 25-count bundle—not the cheapest bundle cigar, but true subculture in smokeable form.
