Caoba Cigars: From Insider Tip to International Delight
Santo Domingo, the vibrant capital of the Dominican Republic, is much more than just a popular vacation destination. Known as the oldest city in the Americas, it was founded by Columbus’ brother and boasts a historic old town filled with stunning colonial-era architecture. It’s no surprise that this part of the city is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The History of Caoba
Amidst this unique setting lies the Tabacalera of Caoba. Initially an insider tip, the brand was known mainly among locals and tourists visiting the Dominican Republic.

A pivotal moment for international success came with the enthusiasm of American Adam Zuber, who showcased the cigars at the IPCPR trade show in 2019. Since 2021, Caoba’s exquisite cigars have also been available in Germany, where they have gained significant popularity.
Two Lines, One Passion: Caoba Cigars
Caoba currently offers two lines. The classic line is crafted using premium Dominican tobacco and enhanced with a Mexican San Andrés wrapper.

The second line, Diamante, also features the premium San Andrés wrapper but stands out with its more intense and robust flavor profile – as the name suggests.
