Dona Flor Cigars: Expertise Meets Perfect Conditions
Behind the brand are two renowned experts: Arturo Turaño and Felix Menendez. As master blenders and experienced cigar makers, they shape the quality of Dona Flor. The cigars originate from the region around All Saints’ Bay in the Brazilian state of Bahia. This area, the southernmost part of Brazil’s northeastern region, is known for its outstanding tobacco fields. High rainfall, fertile soil, and a consistent average temperature of around 25 degrees provide optimal conditions for exceptional tobacco.
The Variety of Dona Flor Cigars
Dona Flor impresses with both quality and variety. A highlight is the Mata Fina series, named after its exquisite wrapper. Mata Fina is one of the most exclusive and expensive tobaccos in the world and is complemented by an excellent Mata Norte filler. The result is a Brazilian cigar with intense earthy flavors, accompanied by notes of forest floor, hay, and moss.
In the past, Dona Flor enriched its range with additional series that are now sold out. One of the most popular was a variant with a Connecticut wrapper. These cigars were characterized by a harmonious blend of bold, woody aromas with subtle notes of nuts and leather.
For short moments of enjoyment, the brand also offered cigarillos – perfect for a quick break or as a gentle introduction to the world of cigars.
