La Aurora – Cigars

La Aurora Cigars – 120 Years of Tobacco Craftsmanship from the Caribbean

According to the company itself, La Aurora is the oldest cigar manufacturer in the Dominican Republic. And indeed: since 1903, hand-rolled cigars have been produced in Santiago de los Caballeros – still under the direction of the founding family León Jimenes, now in its fifth generation. Many employees come from Cuba and contribute their expertise as torcedores or tobacco specialists.

Over more than a century of company history, a wide variety of series has emerged. Time for an overview!

Principes and Imperiales – Top Longfillers at a Great Price

The Principes Claro offer you a mild smoke at a really strong price. The Maduro also delivers quality: darker wrapper, fuller flavor. Since 2022, the more powerful Nicaragua version has expanded the line-up.

A bit pricier, but more intense: the Imperiales. The Classico is light and aromatic, while the Maduro comes with significantly more spice.

Formats With Wow Effect

Particularly refined: the Preferidos 1903. These cigars age for another six months in oak barrels after the regular maturation period. Only six torcedores are authorized to roll this format – true craftsmanship!

Stylish Anniversaries – La Aurora Celebrates in Smoke

The Preferidos 1903 was created for the 100th anniversary. More anniversary cigars followed, such as the 107 Ecuador – a perfect blend of tradition and modernity.

Fresh momentum comes with the 107 Nicaragua, considered the start of the Tobaccos of the World Collection. This includes the 115 Anniversary, once again showcasing the skill of La Aurora’s blenders.

History Rolled Into Cigars

Historically inspired: the 1495 Series, which refers to the year Hispaniola was discovered – the very place La Aurora calls home today.

Other series such as Cameroon 1903, Corojo 1962, Connecticut 1987, or Maduro 1985 are all inspired by the introduction year of their respective wrappers – full of history and flavor.
